Christ of the Everyday seeks to help us discover the true meaning of following Jesus. It suggests that to be converted involves seeing what is already familiar to us in a completely new way, as if our eyes have been opened for the first time to its real significance. Such insight, the author believes, happens in the midst of ordinary life, including our experiences of solitude, suffering, friendship and joy. It is in and from such places that we discover and can begin to value our own personal response to the gospel, and thus develop an authentic perspective on Christ.
