Excerpt from The Stanford Year Book 1909<br><br>HE Stanford English Club takes pleasure in presenting the first of a proposed series of Year Books, initiated with the hope that it may conduce to the encouragement of original literary work at Stanford University. The book has been pre pared under the supervision of a Committee of the Club, which has made every effort to represent the best undergraduate work - hitherto unpublished - of the past year. Two contributions by alumnae (miss Richards and Miss Kimball) have also been included.
