<p>Moving letters and photographs from Anzacs of the Wimmera.</p><p><br></p><p>It was the soldier, not the poet,</p><p>Gave us freedom of expression.</p><p>'Twas the soldier, not the preacher,</p><p>Gave us freedom of religion.</p><p>'Twas the soldier, not Trade Unions,</p><p>Gave us better work conditions.</p><p>And 'twas the soldier made this country free,</p><p>Not party politicians.</p><p>Freedom from Want, Freedom from Fear,</p><p>And Freedom of Speech which we hold dear.</p><p>'Lest We Forget' are words we say</p><p>When marching every Anzac Day.</p><p>So keep alight that undying flame</p><p>To honour those who deserve gieat fame.</p>
