Had any one been asked to choose an adviser calcu lated to lead Li to better thoughts and feelings, he would undoubtedly have chosen for the pur pose (he must have done so by the ordinary laws of human foresight,) a person endowed alike with w1sdom sufficient to convince by reason, and virtue enough to persuade by example.
