Hayes; Excerpts From Newspapers and Other Sources<br><br>The Hayes Memorial Library at Fremont, Ohio, is the property of the State of Ohio by deed of gift to the State from Colonel Webb C. Hayes, son of President Rutherford B. Hayes. It is controlled and managed for the State by the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society which has its headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.<br><br>The Rutherford B. Hayes and Lucy Webb Hayes Foundation is an in dependent, privately endowed Association formed to perpetuate 'the name and fame of Rutherford B. Hayes and his wife, Lucy Webb Hayes. The Foundation is, in part, furthering the purposes for which it was formed by assisting the Hayes Memorial Library to place its material and facilities at the service of competent historical scholars and research workers.
