The author, Heather J. Cuthbertson was a caseworker for the Oregon Department of Human Services, Child Welfare for over six years both in Intake (child abuse/neglect investigations) and Permanency (working with families involved with the juvenile court system). In that time, she has seen a growing need for a book like Going Home for children entering the foster care system.
