Excerpt from Annual Report of the Registry Department of the City of Boston for the Year 1900<br><br>During the year 1900 there were deaths from natural causes: males and females; 476 deaths Of a violent character: 374 males, 102 females; and 57 of which the cause of death is recorded as unknown: 29 males and 28 females. The residents of Boston whose death was caused by phthisis in its various forms numbered males, 676; females, 585. The deaths from this cause is per cent. Of the whole number. Of the whole number Of deaths Of Boston residents by phthisis the 676 males form per cent. Of the total deaths Of male residents Of Boston, and the female deaths by this cause amount to per cent.
