from one member of its ranks. Colonel Seibert had an
incredible career spanning 32 years, and his accounts of
combat, heroism, and day to day life in the military are
great reading for all. The details of the friendships made,
the inner politics and leadership issues, are an insightful
and interesting narrative of military life. His assignments
in the Pacific, Korea, the Pentagon, Ft. Hood, Germany,
Vietnam, take the reader to places and activities that few
have witnessed. Although written at the end of his military
career, as a tribute to the Regulars of the Armed Forces of
the United States, of which he proudly served, one can't
help but feel the pride that this highly decorated veteran,
who served with distinction, felt as he climbed the
hierarchy of the military.
