<p>Dion Fortune and Aleister Crowley stand as the twentieth century&#39;s most influential leaders of the Western Esoteric Tradition. They were very different in the backgrounds, scholarship and style.</p><p>She taught that <em>initiates</em>, that is, those who understand something of their own true nature and purpose and who are trying to cooperate with the unfolding of the Grand Plan, had a duty to help their fellow humans toward light, freedom and eventual godhead.</p><p>Dion Fortune devoted her life to preparing a psycho-spiritual system that would assist man on his spiritual journey. In this respect she followed many others; but her unique combination of dedication, drive and commonsense placed her as one of the foremost figures in the esoteric world.</p>
