I was in New Zealand, and he was on Kauai in Hawaii. We shared photos of our weekly goals and a recap of how our previous week went. Sometimes we would connect on the phone, other times via text. It really helped me to be accountable for my goals, but also to see what I had avoided. Did my goal or habit have purpose? Was it simple enough that I could be successful? I found that breaking down the steps for bigger goals across my week or month really helped me tackle the bigger projects. Sometimes the goal would be to make a new habit, other times to break an old habit. What I find refreshing is that you get to start over each week. </p><p><br></p><p>I ended up designing an accountability worksheet for my friends to use. Many of them asked me if I could turn this into a book. This inspired me to put it together as a 54-week journal. Here are some ideas of how you could use this journal: </p><p><br></p><p>drink more water</p><p>get more sleep</p><p>floss my teeth</p><p>yoga or stretch</p><p>cardio</p><p>weights</p><p>walk/jog/run</p><p>no alcohol days</p><p>no sugar days</p><p>reduce caffeine intake</p><p>cook at home</p><p>make a healthy breakfast</p><p>have a green juice or smoothie</p><p>make a salad</p><p>do some art/something creative</p><p>write 3 things I'm grateful for</p><p>write 3 things I want to happen</p><p>write in a journal for 15 minutes</p><p>meditate or sit in silence</p><p>spend time in my Garden</p><p>set a bed time</p><p>no screen time in the evenings</p><p>inspire someone</p><p>write morning affirmations</p><p>spending budget for the day/week</p><p>get outside</p><p>no social media</p><p>no tv/movies</p><p>read a real book</p><p>play music</p><p>listen to a podcast</p><p>organise/tidy up</p><p>de-clutter different rooms</p><p>plan meals</p><p>plan fitness</p><p>meet a friend for coffee</p><p>try or do something new</p><p>get a massage</p><p>take a nap</p><p>cold wakeup shower</p><p>write a letter to friend or family</p><p>call someone in need of cheering up</p><p>do something you've been avoiding</p><p>study or learn something new</p><p>write a poem</p><p><br></p>
