Excerpt from The Farm Pests of Insect Life: Evidence of Dr. James Fletcher, Entomologist and Botanist, Before the Select Standing Committee on Agriculture and Colonization, 1899<br><br>At the present time there is probably no insect more in the public mind than the Tent Caterpillar, which is destroying the foliage of large numbers of forest and ornamental trees and also of fruit trees in orchards. This is a well-known insect, and everything that can be known about its life-history is already well-known, as well as the remedies to be used against it.
