In my home, standard dinner conversation includes discussions of how long it might take a hell-hound curse to take hold, and techniques a pixie might use to take down a larger opponent. If you read my novels, you&#39;ll see how many of those conversations sooner or later find their way into my writing.</p><p><strong>Q: What books do you write?</strong></p><p><strong>A:</strong> I write urban fantasy stories filled with magic, suspense, and the occasional centaur. I generally fuel my creativity with an insatiable appetite for reading and frequent episodes of Doctor Who. (And lots and lots of Diet Coke.) <p><strong>A:</strong> Urban fantasy is definitely my first love. For me, urban fantasy is a mixture of rich, compelling metaphor, and awesome, inspiring heroes who spark the imagination and make you want to face down the demons in your own life.</p>
