Bangladesh is blessed with Hills situated in the northern and eastern parts which occupy about 12 per cent of its territory. These sloping lands are of great importance for their contribution to ecology and food security. These lands deserve much attention regarding their management for sustainable use. The physical and chemical properties of soils of such an area are investigated and documented which would enable their scientific use and sustainable management. This information will be of great interest for academicians, researchers, agricultural extension workers, foresters, and the more hill dwellers and farmers.
