Excerpt from The Croonian Lectures on the Psychology of the Special Senses and Their Functional Disorders<br><br>The Croonian Lectures appeared in a shortened form in the Lancet soon after their delivery. They are now published in full with the addition of some illustrative cases.<br><br>I am anxious to acknowledge my great indebtedness to the Medical Officers who worked with me before and since the War at Guy's Hospital, and during the War in Lemnos, Salonica, Oxford, Netley and the Seale Hayne Military Hospital, as most of the investigations upon which these Lectures are based were carried out in conjunction with them, and the description of many of the actual cases are taken from their notes.<br><br>I wish especially to mention Major W.
