The man had a wife, but she died.</p><p><br></p><p>After Edith passed, Elmer divided all her Amazon purchases between a barn out back of his farm house and a storage facility in a rural part of America that almost no one ever visits.</p><p><br></p><p>Not long after that, a man from the Bureau of Land Management stopped by to ask if Elmer was "stock piling cleaning supplies"-supplies vital to stopping the spread of a really bad "crud" sweeping across America.</p><p><br></p><p>Elmer said he was.</p><p><br></p><p>The Bureau Man then made Elmer an offer he could refuse, which Elmer did.</p><p><br></p><p>Not long after the Bureau Man drove away, Elmer got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there . . . is where the story begins.</p><p><br></p><p>If you enjoy light-hearted humor and finding silver linings in clouds, you may enjoy Elmer's efforts to practice the Golden Rule.</p>
