Excerpt from Transportation Review of the 500 Boylston St. Development: Traffic, Parking, Transit and Pedestrian Issues; Back Bay Impacts of the 500 Boylston Project and Other 1985-1990 Development<br><br>Various community memoranda pro and con the proposed development.<br><br>This review goes beyond a simple evaluation of the positive and negative elements of the environmental report. I have tried to consider whether the scope of the study was adequate to understand the most significant transportation issues. Furthermore, the eir uses normally acceptable forms of traffic analysis, which may be less than successful in recognizing the special conditions of urban residential communities. While the eir did make several recommendations on ways to mitigate traffic and parking impacts, I have outlined a more comprehensive listing of ideas and programs which could be applied to the whole range of transportation services aimed at reducing vehicle traffic in the Back Bay.
