(Bud is an abbreviation of the Gaelic word, Bodaire, meaning a sort of rough, country person). </span></p><p></p><p><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 1); color: rgba(33, 37, 41, 1)">They bring with them their own eggs, bacon, bread, butter, jam, cabbage, spuds, etcetera. They pay for their lodgings and the landlady, Mary O'Dea, does the cooking.
