Verity's diary begins on 1st September, because in previous months, all her precious energy has gone into writing a book (Love & Best Witches) and getting it published. The proof copy is about to arrive, but she's not sure it's such a good idea any more. Somebody might actually read it, after they've briefly flicked through, glancing at the illustrations. What will they think of it? Will anyone want to read a book about a witch who has M.E.?
