A paved path led through the churchyard to a door in an Old stone wall, on the other side of which was the large garden Of the rectory.<br><br>A bitter wind was blowing, and they hastened with heads bent to get into shelter. The children clung to their mother, who ran with them, all three chattering and laughing.<br><br>One of the choir boys had dropped a hymn-book during the sermon, and Mr. Vigo, the schoolmaster, had given him such a look. Their mother did not rebuke them for being on the look-out for such beguiling episodes.
