<p>This book of poems has been in the works since the Vietnam War era. &nbsp;Many of them have evolved and been refined over the years -- I could never let go of them. &nbsp;Some are about The Vietnam War and the weapons of war; some illustrate the consequences of war; some elicit the spiritual side of war; and many reflect upon how family and friends were affected. &nbsp;The late sixties and early seventies was a turbulent time for America and this book is an effort to present that glimpse of American History from a young person's point of view: a young person of draft age -- as I was then. Truly, it was a life changing situation for many young Americans who wrestled with how to approach and deal with The Vietnam War and the many personal conflicts that it caused to arise. &nbsp;And we can only hope that the lessons learned will be of benefit to our natyion and young Americans of the future.</p>
