Application of ICT communication for development is not a new concept but the modern ICT technology like WiMAX is very powerful tool to consider using in the rural development. Particulars of WiMAX system with its organisation and management in the region Baramati located at Maharashtra India also examined in this Book. This book narrates the vitality of WiMAX in the rural development through the case studies. This shows that, WiMAX helps to find alternative paths of livelihood which is one of the essential prerequisite of rural development. It is found that, majority of peasants of both the villages are likely to continue with the traditional occupation i.e. agriculture. WiMAX improves economic status of rural poor. It is concluded that, when the person gets proper information about alternative income-producing activities then he will tend to move into other jobs or set up small business. WiMAX creates a condition to think rationally and take proper decision about commerce and banking.
