Excerpt from The Journal of Abnormal Psychology, 1906-1907, Vol. 1<br><br>Explanations of this kind are certainly true in some cases, but it does not seem to me possible to generalize, and I think that there are a number of other explanations which must play an important part in any particular case. That is why I Should like to point out here, in connection with some interesting cases of impulsions, a disposition of the mind, quite general among the obsessed and impulsive, which plays, I think, a pretty important part in at least a certain number of cases.
