One of the characteristic features of the Azerbaijan folk dwelling irrespective of its type is an apportionment of a special room in a dwelling house , in a karadam - the karadam premise , and in other types - of a room for guests . In the karadam three types of the interior are distinguished : 1 ) the Karabakh type , widly spread in Azerbaijan ' s western regions ; 2 ) the Nakhichevan type found mainly on Nakhicevan ' s territory ; 3 ) the Lev - Kelbadjar localized chiefly in villages of the Lev of Kelbadjar and Dyrnys of Ordubad regions . Every type has an original spatial solution embracing all the elements - from the general composition to the artistic treatment of separate elements and parts.
