His book on logic was the standard text in the field for nearly 2,000 years. Many of his studies were groundbreaking. He taught generations of academics a basic approach to research, and using that approach did a number of studies that laid the foundation for the development of new academic disciplines. His work in moral philosophy is still read by ethics students today.
