Kelly Rysten was born in Rockledge, Florida and moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico at the age of four. Her childhood was spent in the New Mexico State University library, the horse stables, and the desert between Las Cruces and the Organ Mountains. She met her husband, Gary, in a backpacking class and the two have backpacked and camped all over southern New Mexico and Arizona. These days Kelly enjoys writing and geocaching. She has published nine Cassidy Adventures and a standalone novel titled <em>Geogirl</em>. Kelly also writes the <em>Adventures of Coopersmythe</em> stories for <em>FTF Geocacher Magazine</em>.
