Jahrhunderts war der Kopf in Venedig eingemauert in einem Hause der Familie Sangallo nahe der Scuola di 5. Maria della Carita. Nase, Lippen und Kinn fehlten ihm, auch heisst es, dass er neben der Treppe, die zur Schreibstube führte, an einem wenig bemerkten Orte angebracht war; so blieb er, obwohl in voller Vorderau sicht aus der Mauer hervortretend, unbeachtet und ungewürdigt.
