<p>This book is the first of a trilogy, collectively entitled <em>Voices From the Well</em>. Each of the three novels focuses on the unfolding dynamic of a sequence of relationships, and the emotional and spiritual growth they catalyze. Each book can be seen as one of the islands that Odysseus stops&mdash;or is shipwrecked&mdash;on (those of Calypso, Circe, and Nausicaa) during his long journey back to his wife Penelope, tirelessly weaving her web, in a remote tower of her besieged palace, at home on Ithaka.</p>
