Excerpt from The Juvenile Instructor, Vol. 44: A Monthly Magazine; June 1, 1909<br><br>It is nearly sixty years since the first Sunday School in the Rocky Mountains was organized; and since many Sunday Schools are referring to this fact in their conference pro grams this 'year, we take pleasure in reprinting the following account from the Jubilee History of the Latter-day Saints Sunday Schools.<br><br>To Elder Richard Ballantyne is due the credit for establishing the first Latter - day Saints Sunday School in Utah, which in fact was the first organization of the kind in the Rocky Mountain region.
