The Test of Attentional and Interpersonal
Style (TAIS), developed by Robert Nideffer in 1976, is a
widely used test in sport psychology. The TAIS measures
personality and attention traits that are associated with
high level performance. Nideffer has recently revised the
TAIS with the new version titled the TAIS2. This book
describes two studies that examine the psychometric
properties of the seven attention sub-scales of the TAIS2.
The studies examined the internal consistency, construct
validity and predictive validity of the sub-scales. The
findings highlight that the TAIS2 is somewhat
psychometrically superior to the original TAIS but also
highlights that the TAIS2 is not yet a psychometrically
sound measure. This book provides in-depth discussion around
the utility of the TAIS2 which would be useful for anyone
who currently uses or intends to use the TAIS or TAIS2 in
their research or clinical work.
