Lewis Carroll is the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. On a summer day in 1862, he invented a story to entertain three little girls. This story became the novel <i>Alice's Adventures Under Ground</i>, later retitled to <i>Alice's Adventures in Wonderland</i>, and often shortened to just
<i>Alice in Wonderland</i>.<br><br>
